Run a Rook tournament from a phone

Rook tournaments are partnership against partnership, one table per match, with a long count at the end of every hand. Score All runs the bracket, sends each pair to a free table and scores every game with the same Rook rules, so a set or a moon counts the same way at every table.

Every game uses Rook rules
  • Enter the bid and the counters each side took; sets are scored for you
  • The 120-point deck, the 1s at 15 (180), or whatever count your table plays
  • House rules: last-trick or most-cards bonus, shooting the moon, bidder goes out first, lose at a negative score
  • Partners, or five or six players each for themselves

Tables

Name your tables and each match goes to the next free one, with a push notification telling the players where to sit.

One count for the whole event

Choose the counter total (120, 180 or your own), any last-trick or most-cards bonus, the lowest bid and the target once, when you create the event. Every match uses them.

Partnerships only

Brackets are two partnerships per match. The five- and six-player game, each for themselves, can be scored on its own but not as a bracket match.

Questions

Rook tournament FAQ

How do I run a Rook tournament?

Create the event, pick single or double elimination, a round robin or king of the hill, and add the partnerships. Each game is scored on a phone at the table and the winning pair advances automatically.

Can a Rook tournament play to 300 instead of 500?

Yes. Set the target for the event and every match uses it. A game to 300 keeps a big field moving.

Can I print a Rook bracket?

Yes, free and without an account, from the printable bracket generator. Running it live with table assignments is part of the Pro plan.
