Run a Pepper tournament from a phone

Pepper is a partnership game, which makes it a natural fit for a bracket: two teams of two, one table, a game to 30 or 42. Score All builds the draw, sends each pair to a free table and scores every game with the same pepper values and fold rules.

Every game uses Pepper rules
  • Pick the bidding team, the bid and the tricks they took; the rest is worked out
  • Little pepper and big pepper, worth what your table says
  • Ohio and Iowa scoring (a point a trick, set back 6) or Midwest scoring (score the bid, play or fold)
  • House rules: dirty clubs, a plain bid of 6, bidders go out first, the back door

Tables

Name the tables and each match goes to whichever is free, with a push notification to the players.

One scoring for the event

Ohio and Iowa or Midwest scoring, the pepper values, dirty clubs and the target are set once. Every table plays the same game, which matters when players come from different towns.

Quick games

Hands are only six tricks, so a game to 30 moves fast. Double elimination or a round robin both fit in an evening.

Questions

Pepper tournament FAQ

How do I run a Pepper tournament?

Create the event, pick a format, add the teams and start. Each game is scored on a phone at the table and the winning team moves on automatically.

Can I run a cutthroat Pepper tournament?

No. Brackets need two sides, and Score All scores Pepper as partners, so play the event as teams of two.

Can I print a Pepper bracket?

Yes, free and without an account, from the printable bracket generator.
