How floorball scoring works

Floorball scoring is hockey scoring: one point a goal, three periods and a stopped clock, with penalties that leave a team short-handed.

Three periods

Twenty minutes each at senior level with a stopped clock. Rec and youth games use shorter periods or a running clock.

Goals

One point each. A goal scored with the foot directly, or with a high stick, does not count.

Penalties

A minor penalty is two minutes, a major five. A team scored against while short-handed gets its player back early from a two-minute penalty.

Overtime and penalty shots

A tied playoff game goes to sudden-death overtime and then penalty shots, five per team before sudden death. Round robin games may end level.

What Score All does with these rules

Three periods

Twenty minutes each at senior level with a stopped clock, shorter for rec, school and youth play. Start and pause from the phone; the clock runs on the server.

Goals and penalties

Every goal is one point. A penalty puts a player out for two minutes (or longer), so there is a penalty counter for each team.

Overtime and penalty shots

A tie can stand, or go to a 10-minute sudden-death overtime and then five penalty shots each, with sudden death after that. All of it is a setting.

Rec, school and youth

Shorter periods, two halves for small courts and a mercy rule are presets.
