The 500 scoring table

How much is each bid worth in the 500 card game?

Most 500 players score with the Avondale table, also called the Avondale schedule. It gives every contract a fixed value, and because bids rank by that value, the same table settles the bidding as well as the score.

The pattern is easy to remember. Six spades is 40, and each suit above it adds 20: six clubs 60, six diamonds 80, six hearts 100 and six no trump 120. Each extra trick adds 100, so seven hearts is 200, eight clubs 260, nine diamonds 380 and ten no trump 520.

Misère, a bid to lose every trick, is worth 250, and open misère, played with the cards face up, is worth 500. Bidders who take all ten tricks on a contract worth less than 250 score 250 instead, and the defenders score 10 for each trick they win.

In Score All you pick the number of tricks and the trump suit, or misère, and the value is filled in from the table. The misère values and the slam bonus are settings, for tables that play them differently.
