How Rummy 500 scoring works
Rummy 500 scores the cards you put on the table and charges you for the ones you are still holding, and the first player to 500 wins.
Card values
Aces are usually worth 15, or 1 when played low in a run of ace, two, three. Kings, queens, jacks and tens are 10. The other cards count their number, although some tables count every card from two to nine as 5.
Scoring a hand
When a player goes out, or the stock runs out, the hand ends. Each player adds up every card they melded or laid off during the hand, then subtracts the cards left in their hand. The result can be negative.
The discard pile
What sets the game apart from basic rummy is the discard pile: you may take any card from it, along with every card above it, as long as you use the deepest card you took in a meld straight away. That is why big hands and big swings are common.
Winning
The first player to reach 500 wins. If more than one player crosses 500 on the same hand the highest total wins, and a tie at the top is settled by playing another hand.
Variations the app handles
Some tables give a bonus to the player who goes out. Partners, two teams of two, add their scores together. The target can be lowered for a shorter game.

Going-out bonus
Some tables give the player who goes out a bonus. Set the value when you start the game and pick who went out each hand.
