How futsal scoring works
Futsal looks like indoor soccer and scores like it, but the clock and the foul count work differently, and both belong on the scoreboard.
Two 20-minute halves, stopped clock
The clock stops every time the ball goes out of play, which means a twenty-minute half takes roughly thirty-five in real time. This is the single biggest difference from soccer for anybody keeping time.
Goals
One point each, exactly as in soccer.
Accumulated fouls
Team fouls are counted per half. From the sixth foul in a half, the opposition gets a direct free kick from the ten-meter mark with no wall, which is close to a penalty. The count resets at half time, so the scoreboard has to reset it too.
Timeouts
Each team gets one timeout per half, which is unusual for a football code and another reason the clock has to be controllable.
Knockouts
A drawn knockout goes to extra time and then penalties. In league play a draw simply stands.

Draws and knockouts
League games can end level. Knockouts go to extra time and then penalties, both of which are settings.
