How euchre scoring works
Euchre is a partnership game of five tricks a hand, and the scoring turns on one question: did the team that chose trump take at least three of them.
The deck and the deal
Euchre uses 24 cards, the nines through the aces, with two teams of two sitting opposite each other. Each player gets five cards, so every hand is five tricks. The jack of trump (the right bower) and the other jack of the same color (the left bower) are the two highest trumps.
Makers and defenders
The team that orders up or names trump is the makers; the other team is the defenders. The makers need three of the five tricks.
Scoring a hand
Makers who take three or four tricks score 1 point. Makers who take all five, a march, score 2. Makers who take fewer than three are euchred, and the defenders score 2 instead.
Going alone
A maker with a strong enough hand can play alone while their partner sits out. A lone hand that takes all five tricks scores 4. A lone hand that takes three or four scores 1, and a lone hand that is euchred gives the defenders 2, the same as any euchre.
Defending alone
Some tables let a defender go alone as well. A lone defender who euchres the makers usually scores 4. It is a house rule, not part of the standard game, and a setting here.
Game
Standard euchre is played to 10 points. Short games to 5 and longer ones to 11 or 15 are common house choices. Rules that change how trump is chosen, such as stick the dealer, do not change the scoring, so nothing needs setting for them.
What Score All does with these rules
Makers and tricks
Pick the team that called trump and how many of the five tricks they took. Three or four tricks is 1 point, all five (a march) is 2, and fewer than three means they were euchred and the other team scores 2.
Going alone
Switch on "Maker went alone" when the maker played without a partner. A lone hand that takes all five scores 4, and a lone hand that takes three or four scores 1. Every one of those values can be changed for your table.
Defending alone
Some tables let a defender play alone too. Turn the rule on and a lone defender who euchres the makers scores 4, or whatever value you set.
Games to 10, or any target
Standard euchre is played to 10. A short game to 5 is a preset, and 7, 11 or 15 are one tap away. The console names the dealer for the next hand, and the live link keeps everyone in the room up to date.
Euchre scoring FAQ
How many points is a loner in euchre?
4 if the lone player takes all five tricks, 1 if they take three or four. If they are euchred, the defenders score 2.
What does it mean to be euchred?
The team that called trump took fewer than three tricks. The other team scores 2 points.

Is there a free euchre score keeper app?
Yes. Score All keeps euchre score for free on any phone: a few taps a hand, with the running score, the next dealer and a link anyone can follow.
Can I change how many points a loner is worth?
Yes. The march, the lone march, a lone hand of three or four tricks, and a euchre are each a number you set when you start the game.
What if we entered the wrong team?
Tap the hand on the score sheet and correct it. The totals add up again from that hand on.
