How beach tennis scoring works
Beach tennis uses tennis scoring with no advantage: points run 15, 30, 40 and a single deciding point is played at 40-40. Sets go to six games with a tiebreak at 6-6.
Points and the deciding point
Points run 15, 30, 40, game. At 40-40 the next point wins the game; there is no advantage.
Sets and tiebreaks
A set is won at six games with a two-game lead, with a seven-point tiebreak at 6-6. Many events play two sets and a 10-point match tiebreak instead of a third set; others play a single set.
One serve, lets played
Each point gets one serve. A serve that touches the net and lands in is played on, not replayed.
No bounce
The ball must be played before it touches the sand. A ball that lands in the opponents' court wins the point.
What Score All does with these rules
Tennis scoring, no advantage
Points run 15, 30, 40, game. At 40-40 one deciding point wins the game: there is no advantage in beach tennis. The app shows 40-40 and moves straight on.
Sets and tiebreaks
A set goes to six games with a two-game lead and a tiebreak at 6-6. Many events play two sets and a 10-point match tiebreak instead of a third. Both are settings.
One serve
Each point gets a single serve, and a serve that clips the net is played. A missed serve is a point to the receivers: tap their side.
Doubles first
Beach tennis is mostly doubles, so matches start as doubles. Singles uses the same scoring.
